Our objective is to implement the transition into Nursery and Pre-School as smoothly as possible, and hopefully this page will provide resources and information to assist you with this.
We have a dedicated member of staff ensuring all children are achieving to the best of their ability (Caroline Shearing). Please find below information sheets or links to interventions we use for your information
We ask that all new starters have an 'All About Me Book', which they can refer to and share with friends, encouraging recall skills as well as a form of comfort, to show the teachers.
To create these books, we would like for you to send us, via email, some photos from home, such as a picture of: Mummy, Daddy, siblings, grandparents, pet(s), their home, or anything / anyone important to them.
Your child would need a bag which will arrive with them at each session. The contents need to be named, so we can ensure that they will go home with the correct child. Contents of the bag to include:
These meals are best presented in a named lunch box / bag. It is preferred that the meal consists of a well-balanced meal, with limited amounts of sweets and chocolates. No fizzy drinks.
We are proud to be a nut-free setting. This is due to a child with life-threatening allergies. We will not allow food to be eaten if it contains any of the following:
If you pack any fruit or vegetables in the packed lunches / teas, please ensure that they are in stick form, or if it is in a spherical shape (grapes, blueberries etc.), to be halved. This is to prevent any potential choking hazards.
Meals that require reheating from home - we heat it up to 75°C, then put aside to cool until it is safe for eating.
We are lucky to have a Sensory Room in this setting. This room is used for small-group sensory play for them to explore. We sometimes take children to this room for story-telling or focused activities.
